Solutions / Custom cells

What you won't find in any catalogue.

Some processes have never been automated, because the part is delicate, the cycle is unusual or the constraint isn't in any manual. Those are the projects we like best.

A case

24 bottles per pick, yeast undisturbed

In the traditional method the bottles rest on the settled yeast. Moving them too abruptly ruins the product: the sediment mixes back in and months of ageing are lost.

For a sparkling wine producer we built a cell that moves 24 bottles per pick from the ageing cages to the riddling baskets, with a 7-bar grip that is firm and gentle at once. Nothing like it existed to buy.

The method

Test the critical point first, then design

On a process with no precedent the question is always the same: "what if it doesn't work?". The answer is to put it to the test before committing to a project.

Isolate the risk

Together we identify the point of the process that decides whether it is feasible or not.

Feasibility test

We test it on your real parts, with the gripper or the optics we think fit.

A clear verdict

We tell you what holds up and what doesn't. Even when the answer is that it can't be done.

Project

Only then do we move on to the cell, with the main risk already closed.

When to call us

When it makes sense, and why we can do it

  • A delicate partDeformable, or one that can't be handled as it comes.
  • A cycle with no catalogueNothing like it exists ready-made.
  • One "no" too manyAnother supplier told you it can't be automated.
  • Several technologies at onceWithout managing three suppliers.
  • A process constraintThe real problem isn't robotics.

Custom cells mean designing dedicated mechanics, not configuring components. That is why the Buffoli Industries group matters: we design and build the mechanical side in-house.

Thirty years of robotic applications and sixty of precision engineering are there for exactly this.
